The twostripe snake eel〔(Common names of ''Callechelys bilinearis'' ) at www.foshbase.org.〕 (''Callechelys bilinearis'') is an eel in the family Ophichthidae (worm and snake eels).〔(''Callechelys bilinearis'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by Robert H. Kanazawa in 1952.〔Kanazawa, R. H., 1952 (20 Nov.) (12780 ) ''More new species and new records of fishes from Bermuda.'' Fieldiana Zoology v. 34 (no. 7): 71-100.〕 It is a marine, tropical eel which is known from the western and southeastern Atlantic Ocean, including Bermuda, the West Indies, Lesser Antilles, St. Helena Island and Ascension Island. It dwells at a depth range of , most often at around . Males can reach a maximum total length of .〔 The species epithet "''bilinearis''", treated as an adjective, means "two-lined" in Latin, and refers to the pair of stripes along the length of the eel's body.〔 ==References==
